Ted Kenney began practicing law in 1991 in his hometown of Richmond, Vermont. His practice focuses on personal injury, civil litigation, DUI and criminal defense.
Ted is the President Elect of the Vermont Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and has served as Vice-President in the past. He has also served as Vice-President of the Chittenden County Bar Association. He is still a member of those organizations, and is a member of the American Bar Association and the Vermont Association for Justice, formerly known as the Vermont Trial Lawyers Association.
Ted has been recognized as having Excellent Ethical Standards and Distinguished Legal Skills by Martindale-Hubbell’s Peer Review program. He has been the lead attorney in a number of high profile cases, including trials and appeals that generated statewide newspaper and television coverage. He is committed to providing excellent legal counsel to his clients.
Ted is involved in his community. When he lived in Richmond, he was a member of that town’s Board of Civil Authority, hearing tax appeals and managing the town’s voter registration role. He has been elected to the Williston Selectboard three times; the last time by a 2-to-1 margin. He was recently re-elected to the Williston Select Board, and has been elected previously to the Williston School Board and the Chittenden South Supervisory Union School Board. He served his town as a member of its Planning Commission in 2002.
Ted lives in Williston with his wife and two young daughters. He is an avid reader of narrative histories and enjoys running in the summer and skiing with his family when the snows come.
